Itinerary in detail:
Day 1: Bangkok arrival
Upon your arrival at international airport, you will be picked up by your English speaking and then transferred to city centre with a brief introduction before arrival to hotel for check-in.
Day 2: Bangkok city tour (B,L)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to visit the Grand Palace & Emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaeo) in the same compound surrounded by crenellated walls. The Emerald Buddha is the most sacred object of Thailand, held by all Thais as also the symbol of national independence. Grand Palace – consists of three imposing buildings; the Amarin Vinitch Throne Hall (originally a Hall of Justice but used today for coronation ceremonies); Dusit Maha Prasat Palace (initially served as a venue for royal audiences and later as Royal Funerary Hall ). Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon, take a boat trip along the busy Chao Phya River & Klongs (canals) of Thonburi. Also a visit to Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) – it was Grand royal Temple to King Rama 11. & Royal Barges. The royal barges are long, fantastically ornamented boats used in ceremonial processions on the river. Return back to the hotel.
Day 3: Bangkok – Damnoen Floating market – Flight to Chiang Mai (B,L)
This morning, drive to visit the most colorful of Thailand’s floating markets at Damnoen Saduak in Ratchaburi Province, about 104 kms southwest of Bangkok. Visit the famous floating market, then board a canal boat and view native life along the canal banks and arrive at the market, where boats of various shapes and size, carry goods for trading. Then, route to Nakorn Pathom to see the country’s oldest and largest pagoda. Drive back to city centre for enjoying lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit to the Prasart Museum, located in an eastern suburb of the city, houses an extensive collection of artifacts from prehistoric times through the Ratanakosin era. various styles of architecture are represented, including imitations of the Red Palace in the National Museum and the Rama 1 period Wat (Temple) Yai Suwannaram on Thonburi’s Bangkpl Noi canal.
Then, take the flight to Chiang Mai. Pick up and drive to hotel for check in. Overnight in Chiang Mai.
Day 4: Chiang Mai city tour (B,L)
After breakfast at hotel, start city tour with visits to some of Chiang Mai’s famous temples: Wat Chiang Man situated in town, the first temple built in Chiang Mai around 1300 AD; Wat Phra Singh has the most complete version of Lanna chapel and is home to Phra Buddha Singh, considered Chiang Mai’s most important and sacred Buddha image; Wat Suan Dok has the north’s largest chapel royal. The principal Buddha statue is a huge cast image named Phra Chao Kao Tu. Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon, continue to visit the famous silk & cotton weaving local industry, teakwood carving, silverware making, lacquer-ware and celadon pottery kilns at Sankampaeng district, the shopping highway of Chiang Mai which starts two kms out of the city. The concept is for visitors to shop ex-factory price products; Bor-Sang , a traditional umbrella-making village. The parasol is a personal accessory of the northern lady when she goes outdoor, the same as handbag. As such, the Chiang Mai lady umbrellas are traditionally hand-made and painted with sweet flowery designs in a variety of pretty colors
Day 5: Chiang Mai with elephant at work (B,L)
After breakfast, pick up at your hotel then drive to visit elephant at work at Mae Sa camp, witness the traditional techniques still used in the training process. Wonder at the delicacy and preciseness of such gigantic creatures in action. Then visit Meo hilltribe village, on of the original and primitive hilltribe. Local lunch will be served. Continue to Mae Sa Waterfall & Orchid Farm. Drive back to city centre.
This evening, enjoy a Khantoke Dinner – the Thai style of eating food is served on large platters at low table while you sit on mats on the floor. As you enjoy your meal, yourself be entertained by selection of northern culture performances and special hill tribe show. Return back to your hotel.
Day 6: Chiang Mai – Bangkok – Flight to Hanoi (B)
Morning free at hotel in Chiang Mai. Afternoon, take flight to Bangkok, then connecting flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to hotel for check in. The rest of time is free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 7: Hanoi city tour (B,L)
After breakfast, we will start to explore Hanoi city with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum where the preserved body of “Uncle Ho” can be viewed. Continue visiting the lotus-shaped One-Pillar Pagoda (Chua Mot Cot), whose origins date back to the foundation of city, then visit to Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam. Enjoy lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we follow with the wonderful Ethnology Museum to understand about Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. Then continue the route to visit Tran Quoc pagoda – a cultural symbol of Vietnamese Buddhism for an introduction to Buddhism. Afterwards, get on a cyclo for a 1-hour ride to through the Old Quarter with 36 streets and 36 wares and be dropped off to enjoy the Water Puppet Show, the unique art of Northern Vietnam. Return back to your hotel.
Day 8: Hanoi – Halong – Hanoi (B,L)
Today, after an early breakfast at hotel, pick up and depart for HaLong bay with short break en-route for taking some photos and refresh. Upon arrival at Bai Chay wharf, take the boat cruise through Halong Bay. Having lunch while cruising around the Bay with famous sites such as : Fighting cock’s islet, Stone dog or Joss stick bowl islet. Visit Thien Cung cave. Round walking to visit beautiful stalactites and stalicmites which have been formed millions of years ago. Back to the Junk boat and keep cruising to view fabulous scenery of Halong bay. After a 5 hour boat trip. We will take the route back to Hanoi.
Day 9: Hanoi – Flight to Sai Gon (B,L)
Morning flight to Sai Gon. On arrival, pick up and transfer to hotel. Then, start to explore the city tour including the visit to the Re Unification Palace, the former palace of President Thieu and his predecessors. Today this building is a museum and venue for official receptions. Nearby is the Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1877 and 1883 and one of the city’s major landmarks. Neo-Romanesque in form, Notre Dame is the major seat of the Catholic religion in modern Vietnam. Lunch is at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the History Museum for a thorough understanding of the Vietnamese history and then visit the War Remnant museum to have an overall picture of the most recent wars in country. End the day with shopping opportunities at Ben Thanh market and boutique shops along Dong Khoi street.
Day 10: Sai Gon – Mekong (B,L)
This morning, pick up at your hotel then heading out of the bustling city, we ride along rice field to My Tho, one of Mekong Delta province. Upon arrival in My Tho, we embark on a boat navigating around the small canals in the delta region, which passing My Tho fruit market. Joining in with daily activities of local people and enjoy the atmosphere of water world along the canal and along the Tien river. The exciting cruise continue to Unicorn island, here you can taste many seasonal fruits and enjoy the local traditional music, performed by the islanders. Having lunch at a typical country garden house. Next stops are the coconut candy “mill” and some other local industries in Ben Tre province. Drive back to Sai Gon.
Day 11: Sai Gon – Departure (B)
Free time until transfer to airport for your departure flight. End of our services.
