Vietnam Discovery 9 days 8 nights
Day 1: Sai Gon arrival
Upon your arrival at international airport, you will be picked up by your English speaking and then transferred to city centre with a brief introduction before arrival to hotel for check in.
Day 2: Sai Gon city tour (B,L)
Morning, after breakfast, start to explore the city tour including the visit to the Re Unification Palace, the former palace of President Thieu and his predecessors. Today this building is a museum and venue for official receptions. Nearby is the Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1877 and 1883 and one of the city’s major landmarks. Neo-Romanesque in form, Notre Dame is the major seat of the Catholic religion in modern Vietnam. Lunch is at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the History Museum for a thorough understanding of the Vietnamese history and then visit the War Remnant museum to have an overall picture of the most recent wars in country. End the day with shopping opportunities at Ben Thanh market and boutique shops along Dong Khoi street. Dinner is your own.
Day 3: Sai Gon – Mekong Delta/ My Tho – Can Tho (B,L)
This morning, pick up at your hotel then heading out of the bustling city, we ride along rice field to My Tho, one of Mekong Delta province. Upon arrival in My Tho, we embark on a boat navigating around the small canals in the delta region, which passing My Tho fruit market. Joining in with daily activities of local people and enjoy the atmosphere of water world along the canal and along the Tien river. The exciting cruise continue to Unicorn island, here you can taste many seasonal fruits and enjoy the local traditional music, performed by the islanders. Having lunch at a typical country garden house.
In the afternoon, we continue to visit the coconut candy “mill” and some other local industries in Ben Tre province. Then shuttle to Can Tho for overnight.
Day 4: Can Tho – Sai Gon – Flight to Danang – Hoi An (B,L)
After breakfast, start your trip with a boat cruise on sparking streams along the endless waterway of mighty Mekong River to the colorful Cai Rang floating market. There will be hundreds of boats loaded with fruits, vegetables and fish jostling for trade. Sellers advertise their wares by crying out across the waters. Lunch is at a local restaurant.
Afternoon, drive to Tan Son Nhat airport for the flight to Danang. Upon arrival, meet up with the guide then transfer to hotel in Hoi An for check in. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 5: Hoi An (B,L)
After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of the ancient town centre. Follow the narrow lanes lined with centuries-old houses influenced by Chinese, Japanese, French and European architectures and visit its numerous places of interest: the 400-year old Japanese Covered Bridge, the Phuc Kien Assembly Halls, the local fish market… Around the town we can see a numerous art galleries and tailor shops, get some made-to-order clothes if you like. Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, take a leisurely biking to Tra Que Vegetable Village. Upon arrival, walk around a vegetable garden and join the farmers in preparing the land, fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake, raking, sowing, watering greens, picking greens and many more gardening activities. Bike back to hotel in Hoi An.
Day 6: Hoi An – Hue (B,L)
This morning, after breakfast, drive to Hue. En route, have a stop to visit the Cham Museum and China Beach, then you will pass the Hai Van Pass where a spectacular panorama of the central coastline can be viewed from the summit before reaching Hue. Transfer to hotel in Hue for check in.
Then, start to explore Hue city by enjoying the boat cruise on Perfum River, viewing the city and the tranquil villages on the riverbank. Then walk up to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, a nicely located pagoda, overlooks the Perfume River and the beautiful scenery beyond, where you get to learn more about the Buddhism in Vietnam. Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen emperors once ruled Vietnam, then drive to visit the Tomb of King Tu Duc. Transfer back to hotel. Dinner is your own. Overnight at hotel in Hue.
Day 7: Hue – Flight to Hanoi– Hanoi city tour (B,L)
This morning, you will take the flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, meet up with the guide, then transfer to hotel for check in.
Then we will start to explore Hanoi city with the visit of outside Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on every Monday and Friday), an imposing monument made of generous amount of marble and granite. This is where the preserved body of “Uncle Ho” can be viewed. Continue visiting the lotus-shaped One-Pillar Pagoda (Chua Mot Cot), whose origins date back to the foundation of city. Enjoy lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we follow with the wonderful Ethnology Museum to understand about Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups then visit to Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam. Afterwards, get on a cyclo for a 1-hour ride to through the Old Quarter with 36 streets and 36 wares and be dropped off to enjoy the Water Puppet Show, the unique art of Northern Vietnam.
Day 8: Hanoi – Hoa Lu & Tam Coc – Hanoi (B,L)
After breakfast, pick up at your hotel and then we have a 2 hour drive (110km South) to city of Ninh Binh, also known as the “Halong Bay on land” and the Ancient Capital. Upon arrival, visit Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s ancient capital eleven centuries ago. Here, there are two temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the founders of the ancient capital during the 10th century. Continue to Van Lam village and have lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon, board on a smaill sampan for a 2 hour cruise through numerous waterways, beautiful rural landscape of limestone cliffs and rice paddies, to the stunning Tam Coc caves. Return back to your hotel in Hanoi.
Day 9: Hanoi departure (B)
Today is free until time to transfer to airport for your departure flight. End of our services.
